Description

Celebrate Halloween with these festive Halloween Jello Shots that combine vibrant orange and dark berry flavors in layered gelatin with a spooky candy garnish. Perfect for parties, these jello shots offer a fun blend of sweet, tangy, and boozy flavors, or can be made non-alcoholic for all ages.

Ingredients

Scale

Orange Jello Layer

  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 package orange Jello powder
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1/2 cup vodka (substitute with soda for non-alcoholic)

Black Cherry/Grape Jello Layer

  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 package black cherry or grape Jello powder

Garnishes

  • 1 cup candy corn
  • 1 cup gummy worms

Instructions

  1. Boil Water for Orange Layer: Boil 1 cup of water in a medium saucepan over high heat until it reaches a rolling boil to prepare the first gelatin base.
  2. Dissolve Orange Jello: Remove the boiling water from heat and stir in the orange Jello powder until fully dissolved, ensuring a smooth mixture.
  3. Add Cold Water and Vodka: Stir in 1/2 cup cold water and 1/2 cup vodka gently to combine without creating bubbles.
  4. Pour Orange Layer: Pour the orange Jello mixture halfway into shot glasses and refrigerate for about 1 hour to let it partially set.
  5. Prepare Black Cherry/Grape Layer: While the orange layer chills, boil another cup of water and dissolve the black cherry or grape Jello powder by stirring thoroughly.
  6. Add Black Cherry/Grape Layer: Once the orange layer is firm, carefully pour the second Jello mixture on top to create a two-tone effect.
  7. Chill Jello Shots: Return the shot glasses to the refrigerator and chill for an additional 2-3 hours until both layers are fully set.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Just before serving, garnish each jello shot with candy corn or a gummy worm for a festive Halloween touch.

Notes

  • Use soda instead of vodka for a kid-friendly, non-alcoholic version.
  • Ensure the first layer is completely set before adding the second layer to maintain clean separation.
  • Use clear shot glasses for a better visual effect of the layered colors.
  • Store jello shots refrigerated and consume within 24 hours for best freshness.
