Ingredients
Scale
Chicken Wraps
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (sliced into strips)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 tomato (diced)
- ½ red onion (thinly sliced)
- ½ cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
Garlic Cream Sauce
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup heavy cream
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season the chicken strips with paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook the chicken for 5–6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Prepare Garlic Cream Sauce: In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant, making sure not to burn it. Whisk in the flour and cook for another minute to form a roux. Slowly pour in the heavy cream, whisking continuously to avoid lumps. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese. Season the sauce with salt and pepper and continue cooking until the sauce thickens, about 2–3 minutes.
- Warm Tortillas: Slightly warm the flour tortillas either in a dry skillet over low heat or wrapped in foil in a warm oven to make them pliable for wrapping.
- Assemble the Wraps: Lay each tortilla flat and layer with shredded lettuce, diced tomato, thinly sliced red onion, cooked chicken strips, and shredded cheese. Drizzle a generous amount of garlic cream sauce over the fillings.
- Fold and Serve: Fold in the sides of the tortilla and roll tightly to enclose the fillings. Serve the wraps immediately while warm and enjoy!
Notes
- For a smokier flavor, substitute the stovetop cooked chicken with grilled chicken.
- Use rotisserie chicken as a time-saving shortcut.
- Add sliced avocado or a dash of hot sauce for extra flavor and creaminess.
- The garlic cream sauce can also be served as a delicious dip alongside the wraps or other dishes.
